Aims

To provide maximum visibility to the presence and the flight offers of Finnair from main Italian airports/hubs to principal Asian destinations, through press coverage across the media target.

Strategy

To exploit Finnair’s 85th birthday and the 45th anniversary of the first Milan-Helsinki flight.

Activities

  • Press trip: Competence organized the press trip in a 50’s style Finnair flight that brought a few selected Tier One journalists (GQ, Il Sole 24 Ore, Finanza&Mercati, Economy) from Milan to Helsinki, to visit the carrier’s HQ
  • Press events and one-to-one interviews with Jarko Kontinen, Finnair spokesperson in Italy (target media: financial dailies, trade news portals)
  • Press releases with story angles customized to fit the different target media

Results

Media relations activities generated 43 features, more than 16 million impressions and an equivalent ADV budget amounting to more than 800k Euro.
